Different Strokes....

There are times when u are sitting quitely.....just u and some of your thoughts....and at that moment in the crowd of your existing thoughts u catch a glimpse of a new thought. Just a fleeting thought, which at that time, comes and seems to leave immediately....And then some other day revisits u and says "tuki" ("I spy" in bangla) and u r compelled to give it sometime.....

Well...something like this happened to me two days back and a wierd thought has been playing hide & seek since then......Now without beating around the bush anymore lemme come straight to the point..

All of us experience pain in life.Whether the pain is physical, emotional or spiritual, the reason differs and so does the type and intensity. I was just wondering if we ever visualise pain what color would it be.......Told u its a wierd thought....but so am I.....

So coming back to the color of the pain...When we get hurt as in someone steps on our feet or we bump our head against the wall the pain that we experience has to be red...cos that pain is more often than not accompanied by anger. Dont we just feel like abusing that idiot who stepped on us and left without even saying sorry...Well...I definetely do....GRRR!

And then there are times when we want to achieve so much but are not able to do so and that time the pain is bright yellow- color of failed aspirations ....but within that pain there is a hope...a resolute determination...spirit of not giving up come what may!

The most dreadful pain is the black colored pain. Its the pain that we feel when sumone close to us hurts us really bad....when our trust is breached...when we know that there is no way we can turn our dreams into reality....a situation wherein everything looks dark, gloomy and hopeless.....

Then there is a blue colored pain....a point wherein we reach an understanding with the pain...we accept the fact that we have to live with it and we go through a process of realisation... a realisation that small joys can co-exist with pain.....for example when we ae very very sad abut something and we see a small child smiling at us...We cant help but smile back even through our pain. Or when we see the sky we cant help but acknowledge the beauty of the nature despite our melancholy....

The best is of course the white colored Pain....sumthing that Buddha went through....through out small ways we realise and attain enlightenment about various aspects of life at this stage of pain...We realise that we need to enjoy what there is to enjoy and suffer what there is to suffer and are able to come out of the shadow of fear...fear of getting hurt...and this is the stage wherein we as individuals are able to conquer PAIN.

However reaching this stage does not mean that we will never experience other shades of pain.....its just that next time we see one of the colors we'll know that this is not the only shade...there are others which can be better or worse....and this knowledge will not only give us the strength to bear the pain but also the courage to conquer it....

A Timeless Gift

May u have the gift of time,
Time to feel the dew drops on the petals of flower,
Time to see the evening sky,
Time to smell the first drops
Of rain on the earth dry,
Time to listen to the whispers
Of the soft blowing breeze,
Time to sing the heartfelt melodies....

Time to heal the scars of the past
And cherish the golden moments,

Time to retain the old friends
And make some new,

Time to dream and make those dreams come true.....
I wish you, on this day, my friend

In future too...
May you have the gift of time,

Time to re open this page of memory,
And remember this day...
Not with tears in your eyes,
But with a smile on your face,
And with a hope in your heart,
That we will meet someday.....

God of Small things!

This morning a friend of mine decided to pay me a visit. Whenever my mind is toooo crowded and I am lonely this friend of comes to give me company.....mere sukh dukh ka sathi...has been there wid me since ...ummmm...err...see...I dont even remember! kahan milte hain aise dost! There have been times when this friend of mine has stayed wid me even for months. Wait wait ...I m not writing an essay on "My Best Friend". Any ways this friend of mine is called "Migraine"...so people who have it as friend can vouch for its loyalty! So a real lousy start to the day!
Thought of taking a leave....called up office to inform them.tried to rest and read but to no avail.....started feeling very low.So dressed up and left for office! Scorching weather! God knows when the weather God will have mercy on Delhi! Thankfully got a nice autowala....Only people in Delhi can understand and appreciate what a bliss it is! Started listening to FM on my walkman....Thanks to Deep who gifted it to me! Thankfully no Himesh Reshamaiya songs.....cant just stand them! They were playing sum lovely songs. What better way to uplift ur mood than sum good music! reached office....my colleagues were surprised :) and pleasantly so...in fact they r not just colleagues...rather are very very good friends...they made me feel so good....took care of me.....felt nice to be in office! not much work! Indra and Jeet da were online!felt great after speaking to them.....yet it was crowded inside me and I was feeling lonely.......
But realised one thing that there r so many things in life that v can be be grateful for.....A nice autowalla....Good music on FM...Great friends......Yet we tend to take these things for granted without realising how important these small things are....and the kind of difference they can make to your life.... So thank u Mr.God for everything.....even the migraine :)!

These r the few of my favorite things......

1) RAIN.....Everything about it....How can anyone not like rains?the aroma of first drops....geting drenched to skin.....its an indescribable feeling!!!!

2) Adda (chat session)....Being a true bengali I just love adda sessions....with friends, with family...over the fon...on the net...and nothing to beat the sessions where everyone sits together and talk about nothing and everything......

3) World Cup Soccer.....the spirit,the exuberance,the passion....

4)Watching The Sound of Music n no of times....the songs, the cast, the locations, cinematography, background scores........everything about the movie is SUPERB!

5)Reading.....the feeling of taking a book in hand and turning the pages.....it feels too gooood! soft copies are convinient...agreed.....but it can never replace the good old books!

6) Choreography......the moment I listen to a piece of music or a song my mind immediately starts visualising it...not only in terms of dance steps but also the lights, the stage, the set, the costumes.....everything. wid one dancer, wid group, or if I dance.

7)Dancing....the elegance, the expression, the rythm......its not just a hobby for me...its my passion, one of the ways of spirituality,a way to express my emotions...its my life!

8)SURPRISES.......giving and receiving both......the secrecy and the excitement with which u prepare a surprise for days...and then that smile and spark in the eyes of the person when u unveil it....that look proves that all that hardwork and secrecy was worth it!

9)Junk Food....yeah yeah yeah ...its unhealthy and blah blah blah....I know all this ...but just looooove to eat Burgers, pizzas, french fries, ice cream shakes,Coke.....Yummmmmmy!

10)Watching the sky....especially in the evening...when the sun is going down and the sky is a dynamic canvas on which the pattern of colors change every minute....its mesmerising......

11) Silent conversations.....confused? well ever spent some time when u sit wid one of ur friend or buddies for a long time....yet none of u utter a single word....maybe just enjoying the scenic beauty....and u feel very content.....talking about one of those......its blissful!

Kuchh mang loon?

Socha hai mang loon kuchh aaj tumse…

Ek tukra badal ka

Kuchh boondein barish ki
Thodi si purvai
Or ek jhalak damini

Socha hai mang loon kuchh aaj tumse….
Barsaat ke sham ke saundhi si wo khushbo
Mez par rakhte hoye pyalo ki wo khanak
Tumhari banayi hui coffee ka wo aroma
Tumhari kavita ki do line
Or unhe kehta waqt tumhare ankhon ki wo chamak

Socha hai mang loon kuchh aaj tumse
Chhat pe tahlte huye tumhari wo tanhai
Aane wale kal ki chinta me tumhare mathe ki wo shikan
Mazi ke panno me chhupa hua kuchh yaadon ka wo dard
Or tumhari ankhon me ruke huye kuchh ashq

Socha hai mang loon ye sab aaj tumse….

Mahaz...

Kal raat
Ankhon me jo thehra tha
Mahaz boondein thi barish ki
Ya ashq the tumhare naam ke

Kal raat
Jo chhoo gaya hume
Mahaz nami thi hawaon mein
Ya ehsaas tha tumhare pyar ka

Kal raat
Phir yaad aaya wo manzar
Jab chal diye the tum
Hume mazil se mahaz ek rahguzar banake

Kal raat
Aksar ki tarah
Phir soch me par gaye hum
The kabhi tumhari zindagi mein
Ya mahaz khayal tha ye haseen
Humare khwabon ka…
